Associatons update guidelines for the replacement of e-bike parts

At the end of 2015 the German bicycle associations ZIV and VSF published together with Zedler-Institut and the Federal Guild Association (BIV) joint guidelines for the replacement of e-bike parts. These are now available in a revised, current version.

The guidelines aim at German bicycle dealers and workshops and serve as recommendations for e-bikes components (models up to 25 kmh) that can be modified at their’s own discretion and other components for which they need the manufacturer’s release. The industry, the trade and the craft agree that these recommendations represent a very important contribution to product safety. This is a point which was confirmed by the absolutely positive feedback of the addressees after the first publication. Nevertheless, there were still suggestions and ideas for improvement of all interested parties. These were now taken into account and adopted in a revised verion of the guidelines.
