Bicycle retailers, workshop managers, and staff from manufacturers and importers across Germany were equipped to draw up accurate and professional documentation in order to streamline claims processing, minimise friction with insurers, and ultimately get customers back on their bikes more quickly. In addition to the theoretical foundations, participants were given the expert tools for an initial damage assessment on bicycles, pedelecs and cargo bikes – alternating between theory and practice.
The positive atmosphere was created not only by the expert content presented in a practical and accessible manner at the fascinating bicycle museum, but also by the tour of the testing laboratories, including a live crash test of a metal bicycle frame. Thomas Büdinger from Passione Ciclismo in Oberursel commented: “The seminar was better than I expected. The insights were very detailed. There was a great deal of technical expertise. I’m completely satisfied.”
The trainers, Sebastian Martin, Manuel Gönnenwein and Dirk Zedler, are highly motivated and look forward to helping graduates of this and previous Basic courses to deepen and expand the knowledge they have gained. The Advanced course will take place on Tuesday 14 April and Wednesday 15 April 2026, once again in Ludwigsburg.
The focus of the two Advanced days will then be on:
- E-bike systems, diagnostic options, common faults and repair options
- Carbon components, assembly, testing and repair options
- An introduction to plausibility checks using real-life examples and
- detailed distinction between existing and pre-existing claims
